November has so far made a sterling effort in the shows that it has been putting on across the South West and now Skindred, Raging Speedhorn and Sanguine have added themselves to the roster at Exeter’s Lemon Grove.

Even though Sanguine did find themselves on stage a little later than planned, their set was well worth the wait. Their infections rhythms and mind blowing melodies are what keep this local Exeter band in the limelight. Vocalist Tarin Kerrey doesn’t just own the stage, she is the stage and flies the flags for female-fronted bands to show them how it’s done. Raging Speedhorn made their own introduction to the stage, as they began to take apart the drummer from Sanguine’s set up, mid-song and prompted the house DJ to play his set over the top of the current commotion. Now, you can appreciate the want to stick to a schedule but to be so unprofessional and gang up on your fellow performers was a brand new low.

When the Northamptonshire Metalers began their set, there is no question that their performance was dynamic and what you could call, raw and unadulterated metal. They had their crowd up on their feet for the first time of the evening and as far as showmanship goes, they were not to be contended with, however the only thing that was raging were their foul mouths and bad attitudes, which over-took any interest in their music.

The old stereotype of metal shows, which just used to highlight a room full of fighters, foul mouthed drunks and thugs, was well and truly encompassed in their behaviour on stage and the only people that might have been impressed by this ridiculous display, are the young members of the crowd. Unimpressed is an understatement.
