West London rockers Mantra have a goal – to deliver music which resonates best with the left-behind and the disenfranchised in an increasingly isolated generation. The four piece, who met at university, has been striving for just that since the release of their debut EP ‘I Want’ in January 2017.
The band’s sound has been acclaimed widely by the likes of Kerrang!, Rocksound, and Metal Hammer, and their talent demonstrated by performances at some huge festivals, including Reading and Leeds, Download, Austin’s SXSW, and The Great Escape in Brighton.
But now, with a show opening for Fizzy Blood on the horizon, the band has seen fit to unleash more of their furious social commentary to the world with latest single ‘Individual.’
The track is immediately captivating – with fast-paced, gutsy rock and roll meeting sometimes some very self-aware lyrics. Their musicality is slick, slowing from a fast start into something melodic, but still raw, in a way reminiscent of the early work of You Me At Six.
This is a track that wants to make you think about the world in more depth, from a band who want to pump meaning back into modern day rock.
