The phrase “Needs no introduction” applies to few artists in rock and metal as greatly as it does to Mark Tremonti. Mostly down to his consistently excellent work with Alter Bridge, Mark Tremonti has become one of the guitarists of a generation, a beacon of quality that can rarely be questioned.

Yet despite all the accolades the guitarist has already been at the helm of, forthcoming Tremonti record A Dying Machine sits as his most mountainous challenge yet. A concept album set to be released alongside a fiction novel co-written by Mark Tremonti; it’s fair to say that the Alter Bridge guitarist isn’t one for resting on his laurels.

Strictly musically speaking though, A Dying Machine is a 6 minute journey of hard rock and metal escapades, Mark Tremonti’s vocal anchors the guitar intricacies with aplomb while Gareth Whitlock puts in a perfectly tight knit drumming performance. Full of intent and force, the track makes its jumps between grace and vigour with ease and considering this is a concept album; Tremonti have nailed the crossover appeal here, as opposed to taking a direction ready built for purists.

Set for release on June 8th, you can check out the title track for A Dying Machine below:
