After months of anticipation and speculation, the wait is over, as the third headliners for this years Reading and Leeds festivals have been announced: The Libertines.

Pete Doherty’s indie lads will join the other two headline acts, mighty Metallica and the ever popular Mumford and Sons over August 28th – 30th bank holiday dates.

Doherty himself has said that “I’ve just woken up and I can’t stop thinking about playing at Reading & Leeds.”

But fear not, rock and metal fans, as it’s not all indie acts gracing the stages. Bring Me The Horizon will be there tearing up the main stage along with Marmozets, and The Lock Up/Pit stages will feature metal royalty such as Mastodon, Gojira, and While She Sleeps.
