The first announcement for Reading & Leeds Festivals this year came as quite the shock to a lot of music fans, no matter what their tastes. It’s the age-old tale of not being able to please everyone, but it seems that the booking agents of the festival just can’t win— year after year people complain that the line-up is not diverse enough, but this year when a more distinctive line-up was offered fans still found a reason to complain. In fact, there were people jokingly offering their tickets up for sale on Twitter at less than £1!
Regardless of the backlash, this year’s line-up now boasts some of the best talent in rock thanks to the second announcement at the end of February.
One of the finest up-and-coming British punk acts, Milk Teeth are a force to be reckoned with and will no doubt tear up The Pit Stage this year. Then you’ve got the likes of Scarlxrd, nothing, nowhere. and $uicideboy$, who will offer up an alternative experience with their interesting blend of rap and rock.
Classic bands like Papa Roach, Fall Out Boy and Sum 41 will also be present and will no doubt offer not-to-be-missed sets packed out with their most well-known songs. For something heavier, catch Stray From The Path or Beartooth, and pop-punk fans should head to the Main Stage to check out buzz band Waterparks or the BBC Radio 1 Stage for SWMRS.
