In the sphere of rock and metal, Download wears the crown for the genres most infamous festival; lineup additions, omissions, and positions often dominate discussion for the months leading up to the weekend in Donnington. This all comes with a very little surprise, arguably no festival in existence has been the birthplace to more defining moments in a bands career than Download (remember Slipknot in 2009?). With some fairly recent lineup additions we thought we'd sift through and give you some pointers on who not to miss out on come June.

Malevolence

Breakdowns, glorious breakdowns. Malevolence are the ultra violent mob who manage to compress side splitting anger and technical prowess into one stone solid package. Still incredibly early on in their career, the scary reality is that Malevolence are only just getting started and have a lot more to offer, despite releasing a double hit of records at a quality that most metal bands can only dream of. Take the bands intensity and put it into the dogtooth stage? Expect chaos.
